In Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus is talking to God. In his prayers, He is asking God to help the disciples, help them follow His word, and protect them from harm. Jesus knows that he will be leaving his disciples and that it will be hard for them to be without him. But he has also given his disciples a very special job to do and he wants them to carry on doing this, even after he has gone away. Jesus wants his disciples and us to follow His teachings, love everyone just like he loves us. He also wants us to encourage others to do the same. We are called to share God’s love with others. By sharing God’s love, caring for one another, helping each other and making sure that everyone can have a happy life is what Jesus is asking of us all. Just like Squirrel did for the poor lost baby owl in our story A Bit Lost!
