Brockholes, Yoga and Sports Day!

What a brilliant week we have had in Beech Class!

Our week started with a trip to Brockholes and the weather really was on our side!  We used maps to find our way to the ‘Deep Dark Wood’ where we made our own maps using all of the natural materials the woodland had to offer.

We then had our lunch in The Lookout and were so lucky to have seen an otter swimming in the lake! Our guide Catherine was amazed, as she had never seen one with a group of children in all of her years working there!

We then looked at all of the habitats Brockholes had to offer for different animals. We enjoyed spotting The Wind in the Willows characters along the way.  Finally, we finished our day with a play on the play area.  The children were fantastic and a credit to our school.

On Wednesday we had time for some reflection and mindfulness by taking part in a yoga class.

We finished our busy week off with a day of games!  It was so nice to see the children working both as a team and then competitively in the afternoon with our annual Sports Day.

Well done everyone for taking part and making it such a great afternoon.

We hope you have a lovely half term and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the sunny weather stays!
