A busy start to the Summer Term!

In English, we began our new topic The Wind in the The Willow. We talked about the author and when the book was written – 113 years ago! We explored language and discussed how we don’t really speak like this anymore- ‘Oh bother ‘ and ‘Oh blow!’ The children compared and contrasted the first chapter of the book with the video and they wrote a diary entry as Mr Mole.

In Maths, the children have been using place value and number facts to solve word problems. Each day the children have observed their plants for our science topic and are recording any changes in their plants.  Next week, we will be measuring the stems to see how much they have grown and discussing what plants need to survive. In DT, the children have painted their moon buggy and will be preparing the wheels and axels using suitable tools safely.

What a busy week Beech Class! Have a lovely weekend. Mrs Mallett and Mrs Clack
