We have had another busy week in Cherry class! We have been working particularly hard on our sock puppets this week, putting to use the sewing techniques we have learnt during this topic, to attach arms, eyes, glasses, capes… just to mention a few of the creative ideas. We really want them to be complete before Christmas, so that they can be gifted to someone special, fitting in nicely with our ‘Make Do and Mend’ topic.
We have also reached the end of our thought provoking class book – ‘The Lion and the Unicorn.’ Before finishing the story, we have used this text to produce some alternative endings. The children have worked hard, incorporating dialogue and action in to their writing, to write in the style of the story to produce some interesting and creative endings.
On Friday afternoon, we continued our Advent preparations, by visiting Fr Andrew in church for confession. This gave us all a chance to reflect on our actions and think about things we could do differently in the image of Jesus. This moment of peacefulness was a lovely way to finish our week.
