Balloon Fun!

We have had a lovely week this week. It was great to see so many of you at our ‘Harvest Celebration’ and thank you for all of your kind donations. The children behaved beautifully and sang with such confidence! As well as learning about Harvest we have continued learning about birthdays. We have written lists of birthday presents using our phonics skills, we have matched words to funny birthday presents. We have been learning more about number by playing birthday party games, writing numbers and ordering numbers. We had a very exciting visitor too! Mrs Wiggin’s came into our class to show us how she makes balloon models for parties. We even had a go at making our own balloon models!

This week I have sent a phonics booklet home. Please help your child to write the sounds and complete the actions. This book can stay at home and can be referred to when using reading with your child.

This week some children have been given books with words in. Some children need a bit more time with picture reading books before they move on to books with words. If your child does have a book with words in your will need to support them.  Please help your child to sound out each letter and blend the word together. It is a tricky task so if your child is struggling allow them to read a word and then you read a word. If you need any help or are unsure how to support your child please let me know.

Have a wonderful half term break!

Many thanks,

Miss Scott and the EYFS team
