The end of a great year in Yr5
16 July 2019
It has been a pleasure teaching Yr5 this year and I am really going to miss them. C7 have written a few of their favourite memories from our time together..... "This year has been really busy and it feels like it has gone super quickly. The best parts of this year for me is doing the maths kickstarters with Miss Kerrigan and Bikeability. I found Bikeability really good because I started off not knowing how to ride a bike and ended up riding confidently! For next years Yr5 I would totally recommend Mrs Bridgeman as she is fun and nice. This year was amazing!" Lydia "Class 7 has to be the best class in the whole school because Blu, the schools therapy dog has been based with us. Another great thing about this class is the number of school trips we have been on. The greatest thing about this class is Mrs Bridgeman!" Kristy "My best parts of Yr5 are being able to go swimming and doing bikeability. I loved the trip to the Science festival at UCLAN too." Sanaa "This year class 7 have had some great times. Together we made a great team. We've been on amazing school trips to UCLAN and Liverpool Cathedral, where everyone had a great time and learnt lots of new things." Sophie

I had so many favourite characters; the fairies, Fairy nasty boots and her partner, Cinderella and many more, but my all time favourite was the Fairy Godmother because she was so funny!" Catherine C7. "Yesterday, Class 8 put on their fantastic end of year play! It was really funny and some of the boys were dressed up as girls! The Fairy Godmother was really cool, all of the songs were amazing and the costumes were really well thought out. It was just really great!" Sophie C7

Year 5 have used this fantastic Michael Morpurgo book as a stimulus today, to write dilemmas for an adventure story. We were blown away by some of the children's stories. Read this extract from Annie's dilemma; The next thing I remembered I was lying down against Oona. I looked around and saw that there were tree with thousands of shades of green leaves. I could hear the sounds of the birds and other animals around me. I could smell the warm rain collect on the leaves. I got up reluctantly as lying on Oona was more comfortable than my bed at home. Oona, who was grey and smooth, opened her eyes ...........
