What a busy week!
21 December 2018
We have had a busy week from signing at the hospital and local care homes to making time for Confession, a trip to the pantomime, Christmas lunch and Christmas Jumper day! We also had chance to complete our diaries from the view point of either Mary, Joseph or the Donkey...they make a funny but thought provoking read! Have a great Christmas Year 6!
12 December 2018
Today we had a science day investigating the height of shadows. It was important to make sure that it was a fair test and that we didn't have too many variables. We then wrote our experiments up and produced graphs to show our results.

Today we have been finding out about the angle of incidence and the angle of reflection. We discovered that they are equal and will use this to help us in our experiment next week!
Preparing the way!
05 December 2018
What a busy couple of days we have had! We had our Key Stage Two Advent service on Monday evening which was a great way to start the season of Advent. All children in Key Stage Two took part to reflect on the importance of making way for God in our hearts as we prepare for the birth of Jesus. Year Six then joined our cluster of schools last night at Saint Gregory's Church to come together as a local community and think about the importance of joining together to spread peace, love, joy and hope.
Having a growth mindset
28 November 2018
What is growth mindset? Growth mindset is where you believe that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. This year our class motto is ‘Mistakes are proof that you’re trying.’ We are learning that mistakes are ok in life as long as you learn from them and try not to repeat them. What is a fixed mindset? Having a fixed mindset is where you become pessimistic and believe that you aren’t good at something according to your abilities or talents. If everyone has a growth mindset on this planet, we could make anything happen. We wouldn’t have the brilliant invention of the electric light bulb if scientist Thomas Edison didn’t have a growth mindset. He made 1000 unsuccessful attempts but luckily he made it at the end with the power of growth mindset. I challenge you to change your mindset and achieve your full potential! By Merin (Year 6)
Year 6 Athletics group
23 November 2018
Well done! I am a very proud teacher today after seeing you all work so well individually and as a team. You supported each other throughout the day and had lots of success in a range of different events! It was also a pleasure to be told, on more than one occasion, just how polite, respectful and well behaved you were with all the officials and helpers! Have a great weekend! Mr P
Calculating the Volume!
16 November 2018
In maths this week we have been calculaing the volume of cubes and cuboids. Each group then had a different challenge to see if they could use the formula that they had been using. Some of us had to calculate the volume of the corridor with the added cloak rooms and the steps whilst others had to try and make the largest volume in a cube they could with a 20cm piece of card.
