Good morning Year 6!
03 July 2020
Good morning Year 6. I hope you have all had a good week and enjoyed working through your transition booklet. It has been great to read all your questions and plans that you have submitted via Purple Mash. I am printing your post cards off and will put all the different questions together so that we can discuss them when we return back to school. If you haven’t quite finished the booklet yet, don’t worry as you will have chance to do so next week. Please make sure that it is all done by the time we come back to school so that you can bring it with you and share it with the rest of our class. I have finished my visits and phone calls to your High Schools this week to drop off all your information…I was so proud sharing with them just how talented and special you all are! I was working on a little project for you yesterday and came across this quote which I want you to remember this weekend…’You are AMAZING. You are IMPORTANT. You are SPECIAL. You are UNIQUE. You are KIND. You are PRECIOUS. You are LOVED. Have a great weekend! Mr P
WOW week - w/c 6th July
02 July 2020
We have been busy preparing another WOW week for you all to enjoy at home, starting from Monday 6th July. This time we have decided to celebrate and learn all about 'PRESTON'. The activities have been split up into five categories, we would like you to select at least one activity from each area - one for each day of the week. We have made suggestions as to how information can to presented, however don't be restricted by these - feel free to be creative in your learning & celebrations. There will be no purple mash set this week, giving you all chance to catch up on prior learning and relax a little. Don't forget we would love to see what you have been up to, so email your class teachers some of your favourite pieces of work, on your class emails. Enjoy!
Year 6 - Monday 29th June
29 June 2020
Happy Monday Year 6! Home learning will be a little bit different this week. You need to be using the transition booklet that I dropped off on Thursday to think about your memories from Saint Clare’s and your next steps as you prepare for High School in September. It would be best to look at a couple of pages each day and still access the Purple Mash daily task. When we come back to school together it would be great to share your work and memories with the rest of our class. One of the Purple Mash tasks this week is to think about any questions for High School. Remember what we always say in class…no question is a silly question! I will put them all together and we can discuss them as we return. By now you should have all had information sent from your High School. If you haven’t please send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I will look into it for you. I hope you all have a great week, remember to stay safe, be kind and keep washing your hands! Mr P
26 June 2020
Good morning Year 6. It was great to see you all yesterday! Well done on remembering your lines from the poem and for most of you managing to complete it on the first take. I need to give a special mention to Joshvin who gets the award for the most takes…8 in total, closely followed by Seb who had the distraction of a barking puppy, we got there in the end! I was so pleased to see you all smiling and looking forward to coming back to school in the last week to spend time together as a class. I hope you all have a great weekend and remember to stay safe, be kind and keep washing your hands! Mr P

Just a quick reminder that I will be popping to see you again tomorrow Year 6! You should have received an email from me on Monday with your lines for the poem that I would like you to learn. Mrs Foster and I will record you tomorrow so make sure you read through them today. If you didn't get the email please contact me at - email@example.com. It was great to read your Purple Mash from Monday. I was so impressed with how mature and honest you were, keep up the great work. Have a super day and I will see you tomorrow! Mr P

Happy Friday Year 6!
19 June 2020
Good morning Year 6! I hope you have all had a good week. I have been so impressed with all the work that you have sent me! I have attached lots of your pictures to this blog so you can all have a good look! I know that many of you would have been making your Confirmation this weekend. Perhaps you could join Father Andrew for Mass on Sunday via the Parish website or say a special prayer for the other children who would have been making this special Sacrament. Home learning will continue on Monday and this will be your last week of Maths and English tasks as the following week we will focus on transition activities and then we will have another wow week before returning to school on Monday 13th July! I can’t wait for us all to be back in school together! I sent an extra letter to your parents yesterday with lots of information in. If they didn’t receive one please just ask them to contact school. I hope you have a super weekend and remember to be kind, keep smiling, stay safe and keep washing your hands! Mr P
Welcome back to School Class 8
18 June 2020
Dear Year 6, I am so looking forward to seeing you all back in school. I have put your 'bubbles' right at the very end of the term in the hope that social distancing will have improved and you will be able to spend more time together. All of you will come in for the last two and a half days of the school year, that's the 13th, 14th and the morning of the 15th of July. I know you will want to say your goodbyes and catch up with everyone. At the moment you will be in three 'bubbles', but I am waiting to share that with you just in case Boris Johnson decides that things can be different. I know you can be patient knowing that of all the classes you get the most time together - whatever it looks like. I know that Mr. Parkinson, Mrs. Foster, and Mrs. Lee are busy getting things ready for you and are really looking forward to seeing you face to face. Take care and hang in there, you have 'so got this!' Mrs. Charnley
Good morning Year 6 - Wow Week
15 June 2020
Good morning Year 6! I hope you managed to have a good weekend. Did you get to see the thunder and lightening on Saturday evening? It was like a light show above my garden! Thank you to those of you who sent my your school memories over the weekend. If you haven’t done yet please make sure that you do by the end of this week. You will see your work for this week in the document attached to this blog. it would have been a ‘Wow Week’ in school so we have put together a range of activities to celebrate Great Britain. Pick and choose activities from the grid to complete this week and as I said on Friday, if you have younger siblings it would be great for you to work together! I am looking forward to seeing what you have been up to, so please send any pictures to our class email - firstname.lastname@example.org and I will add them to the blog later this week. I have left all the tasks up on Purple Mash from last week so you have chance to catch up as no new tasks will be set this week. Have a super day and remember to be kind, keep smiling, stay safe and keep washing your hands! Mr P
Good morning Year 6!
12 June 2020
Good morning Year 6! I hope you are all ok and have been working hard. I have really enjoyed reading your memories this week, they have put a big smile on my face each day. If you haven’t handed them in yet please make sure you do before next Friday. Next week we have another ‘Wow Week’ where you will be off timetable for the week and have a range of different activities to complete. If you have siblings in school it would be great if you could support them, as you will be all working from the same timetable. The timetable for next week is already on our class blog page (Red Bus) and I look forward to you emailing pictures of the work that you have completed! I won’t be setting any new purple mash tasks next week but I will leave this week’s tasks on until Friday, so you have chance to catch up and get up to date. Remember that it is our ‘Virtual Blessed Sacrament Procession’ today at 1:45pm. I bet you are glad that you are watching it from the comfort of your sofa as I am currently in school and the weather is miserable! If you click on the blog you can see a picture of Coco’s robot that she has created this week…wouldn’t it be great for us all to have a robot to do jobs for us! I hope you have a great weekend with your families, remember to be kind, keep smiling, stay safe and keep washing those hands! Mr P
