One of our STEM activities in Year 6 this week was to design and make our own fruit crumble! We could choose what ingredients we used as well as the different quantities (Mr Parkinson tried to hide ratio and maths in cooking but we spotted it!) Lucky Year 6! Everyone had a goodnight sleep and a hearty breakfast, some even had four shredded wheat ready for the day! The sun is shining ready for them as today the different groups will be enjoying archery, canoeing, tree climbing, bouldering and then a night walk this evening. Wednesday already! The night walk was enjoyed by everyone and all slept well again ready for another busy day of team challenges and 'The Pole!'. This evening sees a campfire activity as long as the rain stays away. Thursday: Another good night sleep and serious breakfast ready for a day off site. Everyone is off to the lakes to the Cathedral Caves walk in Little Langdale.

The Human Body

This week Year Six have started to look at the heart, circulatory system and the human body. We spent the afternoon working in groups to try and place all the organs where they should be in our body. We then added veins and arteries as well as descriptions for each body part. We will continue to look at the human body over the next few weeks and discover just how amazing it is!
