The Planetarium at the Harris Museum
12 February 2019
On Monday, Class 7 went on a school trip to the Harris Museum. We were split into two groups, one went inside the inflatable dome, called the Wonder Dome, whilst the other group was exploring the other parts of the museum. So, in the Wonder Dome, a man called Ben was talking to us about the planets, our moon and the sun. He also told us about a space rocket called Saturn 5, apparently the largest and most powerful rocket built, which can no longer be replicated. After the planetarium, we were able to look around the museum, paintings and drawings that famous artists had created, it was amazing. I looked at the old coins that people used a long time ago. There was also phones that had voices from famous people, talking about different topics. Now it was time to go, we got our coat and left on the bus. Jayden

Lucky Year 6! Everyone had a goodnight sleep and a hearty breakfast, some even had four shredded wheat ready for the day! The sun is shining ready for them as today the different groups will be enjoying archery, canoeing, tree climbing, bouldering and then a night walk this evening. Wednesday already! The night walk was enjoyed by everyone and all slept well again ready for another busy day of team challenges and 'The Pole!'. This evening sees a campfire activity as long as the rain stays away. Thursday: Another good night sleep and serious breakfast ready for a day off site. Everyone is off to the lakes to the Cathedral Caves walk in Little Langdale.

In preparation for writing our own Science fiction stories, we have been looking closely at the story of E.T. Some children in class wrote a blurb for this story. 'E.T has left his planet and has crashed on Earth. It is up to Elliot to help him get back home. They must get going quickly because the scientists are already after him. Elliot must stay strong ....' Jacson 'A boy called Elliot finds an alien friend. He decides to name him E.T, but he doesn't know how to get home. Elliot tells his brother and sister, but it isn't too good when the scientists try to catch him to study his species. E.T must go home. Will he survive? Read on to find out what happens!' Mohammed B
