Macmillan Coffee morning.

Art - Nature

The children have worked very hard this afternoon looking at the beautiful world around us. We were able to find some interesting natural objects to then draw. Class 3 worked very hard using the 'magnifiers' in order to add detail to their drawings, producing some fantastic artwork!!

Congratulations to Seb and Annie our new Head Boy and Head Girl! What a tough election process. All candidates showed confidence and such a mature attitude when answering questions from the rest of the children in Key Stage 2. Congratulations must also go to our house captains Sanaa, Mohammed, Austin and Chloe! Well done!
iPads in English

Class 3 have word hard to identify tricky words and find their meaning using the class iPads. We were then able to put these into a sentence and find the opposite meaning. Super work Class 3.
Head Boy and Head Girl Elections

Election fever has started in school this week with the Head Boy and Head Girl elections. With confidence and determination, 10 children from Year 6 delivered their speech in front of the rest of Key Stage 2. Voting will take place tomorrow alongside house captain and school council elections. Watch this space for the results!

Class 3 have been busy spotting tricky words in their English this week and finding their meaning using the class iPads.

Well done to Emma and Malakai for receiving a certificate in yesterdays Gymnastics lesson with Olivia from PNE, for their skills, hard work and great attitude. The children really enjoyed working in pairs trying out counter balances.
Friend or Foe

We have started our class novel - Friend or Foe by Michael Morpurgo. This text is linked to this terms topic of WWI & II ..... 'Evacuated from London, David and Tucky feel like the war is a long way away from their new life in the countryside. Then one night the skyline of the moor is lit up with gun flashes, and the distant crump of bombing miles away brings the war back to them and shatters their new-found peace.'

It has been lovely getting to know the new pupils in my class over the last week. I am looking forward to teaching them over the next year and sharing some great experiences with them.

What a great start to the year you have made Year 6. You have all worked hard, listened carefully to the new routines and taken on extra responsibilities throughout the school! Remember Head Boy, Head Girl and House Captain Elections are coming up so make sure that you have your speech and poster ready!
