St Vincent de Paul cold weather packs
20 December 2019
Year 6 have been spending time thinking of others this term and in particular, we have focussed on the homeless people in our local communities. We have raised money through our school sleepover, donated sleeping bags and warm clothes as well as collecting food throughout the term to go to the food banks. Our final mission, to carry out with our families, is to distribute St Vincent de Paul cold weather packs to those in our local communities, who are less fortunate than we are. Enjoy spending time with your families Year 6 and I will see you all in January!

Goodness when I look back at this term we have done some amazing things. The children always rise to the challenges they face through the strong partnership we share together. The commitment of staff truly reflects the successes we share together and on your behalf I want to thank them. The Foxton Center were amazed at the 'four bin bags' of hats gloves and scarves from our School Council led Advent action. When we think that Mary and Joseph had the long journey to then stay in a stable, how lovely to help those who have nowhere to stay today. Have a lovely Christmas and I hope you enjoy spending time making happy memories with your families.

Class 7 have been really busy this week writing WWII explosion texts. We have brought together all that we have learnt about the war to produce these fantastic information booklets.
A walk to Sharoe Bay retirement flats!
17 December 2019
What a great day Year 6! You have shown a real maturity and determination to be the best you can be over this half term and today was a real highlight! You sung beautifully at Sharoe Bay and put smiles on the faces of so many people. To see you spending time in conversation with the residents and taking an interest in what they were saying made me a very proud teacher! I was inundated with comments on how well behaved, mature and polite you were which was a great credit to you and your families. Remember the pantomime tomorrow and your Christmas jumper on Thursday!
Year 6 on tour!
16 December 2019
Year 6 are going back on tour this week. Today we visited Preston Private care home and tomorrow we will walk down to Sharoe Bay Care home. It was such a delight to see the children sharing stories and memories with all those who came down to listen to us sing. It really does remind you of the importance of sharing your time with others. Well done Year 6!
Carols at the Hospital
15 December 2019
Once again the children in Year 6 shared their talents with the hospital Chaplaincy team in singing at the annual Carol Service. As always they showed what it is to be a part of St Clare's and really gave their very best.
The Road to Bethlehem
12 December 2019
It never ceases to amaze me how the story of Our Lord's birth can be told with such emotion and maturity by our children. Both 'Born in a Barn' and 'Mend the Manger' were truly amazing. We've heard the story so many times but seeing each step through the eyes of a child helps us all to remember the importance of Christmas. I'd like to thank all staff who worked together to nurture the children's understanding of this special time. It was lovely to see parents and families delight in watching their children bring such joy to everyone.
