Diwali and our Science Trip

What another busy week! In mathematics, we have recapped Year 3 prior learning of the grid method and began learning a new method of multiplication- column multiplication. In English, we have continued our journey through the jungle with Lila to Mount Merapi- will she find the Royal Sulphur? We have learnt what a fronted adverbial is and six ways they can be put into sentences. In RE, we used our poetry skills from last term to write a poem about all the things we know about the Sacrament of Baptism. On Tuesday, we welcomed Seoni’s mum into class to share with us how Hindus, Sikhs and Jains celebrate the festival of Diwali. The children loved observing rangoli patterns, diva lamps the beautiful saris and jewellery worn. On Thursday, we concluded our science unit of rocks with a visit to Corpus Christi. Mr Tootill led the children in an experiment and the children very much enjoyed safely using the science equipment in the laboratory. A huge thank you Mrs Chudasama and Mr Tootill for giving your time, we very much appreciate it and thoroughly enjoyed both sessions.
