We have learnt all about Diwali this week. We had a visit from Seoni’s mum who told us how her family celebrates Diwali. She showed us all of her decorations and demonstrated how to create a Rangoli pattern. She also dressed us in traditional celebration costumes and brought us all chocolates because giving sweets to one another is part of Diwali celebrations. In class we have created our own Rangoli patterns, our own diya lamps, written about Diwali, held our own Diwali celebration, made Diwali decorations and ordered numbered diya lamps!
In your child’s bag is a letter providing information about the Christmas play. If you have trouble finding a costume please let me know as we have some at school.
I will also be holding a parents’ reading workshop via zoom on the 29th of November at 5pm. It is a session designed to give you practical ideas and activities you can do with your child to support their reading. I will send the link out nearer the time.
