Elder Class Home Learning – Wednesday 3rd March

Good Morning!  This morning on zoom we will be looking at our science and checking to see if anything has happened to our plants, so have your exercise booked prepared with your science experiment written up.  Please bring with you your arithmetic paper as we will be looking at Tuesday’s answers.

Spellings

Today your spelling task is to write your spellings into sentences.  You must have at least ten sentences, try to write them into complex sentences.

Reading

We are looking at a different Fairy Tale this morning.  Read it through and write your own questions based on this story.  I would like to see questions that are based on vocabulary, inference (use a clue in the text to answer your questions), prediction, explanation, retrieval and summarise the story.

Writing

Read through the story the selfish giant.  You are going to write a diary entry from the perspective of one of the children from the garden.

Remember a diary entry needs to include your thoughts and feelings, write in the past tense, use first person e.g. I, we.  I would like you to use ambitious vocabulary (you may need to use a thesaurus for this).

L.O. to write a diary entry.

Arithmetic

Please complete Test 3 Section B.  If you have any questions please bring them to Thursday’s zoom session.

Maths

Today, when you have watched the video below, please complete the ‘Making shapes’ section of your White Rose Maths booklet on pages 66 – 69.

Science

L.O. to identify and label the parts of a plant.

Your science work for today can be found on Purple Mash.
