Today the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service came in to speak to the Year 2 children. They discussed with the children what their roles were as fire fighters and the types of uniform they wore for different incidents. The children then learned, ‘stop, drop and roll,’ and when to use this. The Fire Service then discussed with the children how they can keep themselves safe if a fire broke out at home and school by having a fire plan and using methods to help them. They also knew to call 999 in a fire emergency.
Lots of the children had some excellent questions to ask at the end and I know they will share what they have learned at home with you.
