Hazel

Dear Parents,

Hello and welcome to Hazel Class. My name is Mr Cummings and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I am looking forward to finding out all about your children and starting our exciting learning adventure.

In addition to myself, your child will also be supported by Mrs Mills. Mrs Noonan will teach the children every Friday morning.

English and Maths homework will be sent home on Mondays and should be returned before Friday of that week. If your child finds any homework particularly difficult, please annotate the homework.

Your child will receive reading books each week which I hope you will share with your child. Please encourage your child to read the book and discuss their understanding. Please then sign the book and comment on their progress or discussions you have shared. At present, reading books will be given on a Monday and these books will be changed on a Thursday. Please try and read with your child each night for at least 15minutes, also try to read a range of other books if your child has completed any school reading books.

P.E sessions for Hazel Class take place on Tuesdays. In order to develop your child’s independence, children will bring their PE kit into school and get changed in class. PE kits will be sent home at the end of each half term to be washed. In order to ensure the safety of your child during these sessions, please ensure that long hair is tied back and earrings are removed.

If your child requires an inhaler please send it into class labelled with your child’s name and the dosage required.

If you require any more information or wish to discuss anything further please don’t hesitate to ask me.

Thank you for your support.
