Normality resumes in Cherry Class

After a very busy couple of weeks, Cherry class are back in our classroom and are getting stuck back in to our normal routines! Which has been very nice!

We started off our week with a visit from the local PCSO’s – talking to us about keeping ourselves safe and knife crime awareness. The children found the talk very informative and took onboard the essential need to know facts, especially around their own safety.

On Wednesday afternoon, we cheered and supported our class Sport Representatives, as they ran around the track with the Commonwealth Baton, which is on its journey to Birmingham, in time for the start of the next Commonwealth Games, this summer.

We have also been busy practicing our Royal Variety Performance, this week, which is coming together nicely. The children have enjoyed learning sign language to the song ‘This is Me’, from The Greatest Showman, along with a few dance moves!! Although it has been decided that Mrs B’s dancing is a little embarrassing!

In the mix of all of this, we have been getting to grips with Decimals, delving deep in to the lives of the characters in The Rain Player, writing newspaper articles about deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest, developing our Netball skills with Mr Cummings and looking at the links between scripture, especially The Last Supper and the Sacrament of the Eucharist!!!
