One Kind Word – Year 6

We have had another busy week in Year 6.  In English, we have been exploring the features of ‘Classic Fiction’ and really enjoyed reading the first chapter of ‘Mary Poppins.’  Over the coming weeks we will use our class novel to inspire our super writing.

In Maths we have focused on measuring and calculating angles in polygons.  The children have worked very well using jottings to help with their problem solving.   Also, we have explored the perimeter of a range of shapes.  This weeks Maths homework can be found on Purple Mash.

As part of our computing we have been learning about what makes a secure website.  Also, we have discussed ‘One Kind Word’ where we talked about sharing kind words with our friends.  We thought about how we can show kindness and respect to others.  What kind words can you think of to describe someone close to you?
