Our wonderful group of explorers

‘I wonder…’ has been the phrase of the week with our explorers continuing their exploration of stories, this week focusing on Little Red Riding Hood, exploring number sequences, letter sounds, the arctic and the great outdoors.

Our chatter group have been busy looking at different outdoor environments looking for objects and wondering if they could be used in different places. When exploring our weekly story we thought about how we could describe the key characters and how they felt. Our big bad wolf had a day being a big good wolf as really we feel he just wants friends to play with.

In our number work we have hunted for numbers in our environment be they the numerical or quantity. We have been exploring numbers looking at bigger and smaller numbers and ordering them using our ‘diddly, diddly do’ method.

Our explorers have spent lots of time outdoors hunting for various things, objects, numbers, letters and animals. We even spent the day out in our tent wrapped up warm with lots of layers and cooking on our campfire. We worked out found and used what we needed to to be able stay clean warm and dry.

Our bottle greenhouse is coming on nicely but we still need more for the roof. Please can you continue to collect 2L bottles for us.
