Having evaluated a range of shop-bought soups in terms of appearance, texture and taste, Elder class moved on to making their own soup this week. The children practised cutting, grating, peeling and blending a variety of vegetables. They were able to use the equipment safely and effectively in order to make their tasty carrot, parsnip and onion soup. The classroom smelt delicious for two days and made us all feel hungry! Everyone had the opportunity to try some of their group’s soup and some pupils even took some home! Next week, in groups, the children will decide how this recipe could be improved by adding or removing different vegetables, herbs and spices before using their plans to make their new improved soups!
