We have been very busy this week in Cherry class!
We started off our week by beginning our St Clare’s biographies – the children have found it really interesting learning all about her life and thinking of ways that she can help us lead a life closer to God.
We have also been exploring our class text – ‘The Matchbox Diary’ – we have imagined that we are one of the main characters, as well as writing in the style of the book to produce our own sections to the novel. We have produced some fantastic pieces of writing from this stimulus. Today, we have started researching themes from the book, in order to write a non chronological report, next week.
In History this week, the children have been learning all about the front line and what life would have been like living in the trenches. They then imagined that they were a soldier in WW1 and started writing a letter home to their families.
Our self portrait preparations are coming together, we have been practicing drawing eyes, lips and noses. We look forward to sharing the finished art pieces shortly.
A group of children from Cherry class made a special visit down to our pre school class on Wednesday afternoon and enjoyed spending time with our new family members. Each week a small group will be spending time with our pre school buddies. Check out twitter for some pics!
