It has been lovely having all the children back in school and they have been working extremely hard. In English we started reading the story of The Enormous Turnip. The children used the text to find out all they knew about the farmer. Then they considered and wrote questions they would like to ask him. We then used the text to infer how the farmer was feeling at different parts of the story. All the children enjoyed stepping through the magic mirror and taking on the role of the farmer.
One of our class visited London during the holidays and continued her learning about The Great Fire of London by climbing the 311 steps to the top of the Monument. The Monument was build to commemorate the great fire.
