This week, in Cherry class, we have been focusing on Advent, starting our preparation for Christmas, Jesus’ birth. After preparing our class altar with our Advent wreath, we have been learning all about the symbolism associated and the history behind it. We have also been learning about Christingle, another Christian Advent tradition.
Of course, on Wednesday we celebrated the start of Advent with yourselves at our Advent service – I was so proud of how well the children portrayed the Christmas message, with such reverence and respect.
Finally, Cherry class have been sharing messages of hope, which fits in with the theme of the first week of Advent perfectly, by making and writing Christmas cards that have already been sent to nursing homes in the local area.
