‘The important thing is not to stop questioning!’ – Year 6

We have had another busy week filled with new learning. We have finished our biographies which are now displayed in class and ready to share with the younger children. In RE we have been exploring the liturgical year and how we, as a school community, celebrate and prepare during the different seasons. Our focus has turned to multiplication in maths and we have started to explore a range of methods to support us when problem solving.

It has been great to welcome a couple of different visitors into class this week. firstly had a visitor from the Houses of Parliament education service who was so impressed with the maturity and knowledge that the children shared with her. We have copied her email for you to see below

“It’s so lovely to be back face to face & I certainly got grilled with some really in depth questions from an enthusiastic bunch of young people. I was so impressed with their knowledge of issues affecting our country at the moment. Definitely some MPs in the making.”

Today we welcomed back two teachers who have now retired from Saint Clare’s, Mrs Flett and Mrs Breakell. They came to school to answer our questions about what it was like to teach in the 1970s, when the school was first opened. Throughout the year we will be thinking about the school over the past 50 years as we move towards celebrating our 50th birthday!

Below are a couple of reminders for next week. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Have a lovely weekend with your families.
