This week in Willow Class we have continued to explore the story of the enormous turnip with some of the children acting out the story and all of us trying turnip soup.
In geography the children have began to recognise the 4 points of a compass and considered the direction they would need to travel to visit different parts of the UK. We then focused on Scotland where the children learnt to recognise the Scottish flag, national flower, capital cities and tallest mountain. We found out about different foods associated with the country, with the majority of us deciding that we wouldn’t like to try haggis.
The children really enjoyed cooking and eating Scottish oatcakes.
In mathematics the children have been using 1g and 10g weight to measure a variety of items.
