Visitors and Poetry

What a productive and busy week we have had! We have learnt and written motif and haiku poetry this week in English and I have been impressed by the range of figurative language the children have included in their poems. We definitely have some budding poets in Elder class!

On Tuesday, PCSO Cosmin came into school, and spoke to our class about how to stay save online and who they could speak to if they had any worries or concerns online. Father Stephen also came into school and brought an item from church with him. Look at the photograph below- can the children explain to you what it is?

On Wednesday afternoon, we concluded out fieldwork trip with a final visit from Ribble River Trust. The children thoroughly enjoyed the river table and we were so pleased to hear the children use the geographical vocabulary they have learnt over the last few weeks. In class, they also used their mapping skills to label the river from its source, at Ribblehead to its mouth in the Lytham estuary.

A huge thank you to all our visitors, their time and expertise in their area really does enrich the learning of our children!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend with your families. Please remember the more you read, the more you learn, the more you learn, the more places you will go!
