Over the last two weeks, Elder Class class have enjoyed participating in a wide range of mindfulness activities to improve our overall health and wellbeing. We enjoyed a walk to Mason’s Wood- taking time to close our eyes and listen to the sounds around us, which included the stream, rustling leaves and chirping birds. In addition to our Stone Age dance, the children have also learnt a new dance as part of a whole school flash mob which we performed on the playground.
We continued our My Happy Mind programme, discussing how our hippocampus, amygdala and prefrontal cortex works as a team to help our brains grow. Today the children participated in yoga session where they completed stretches and used breathing techniques.
It has been a super first term getting to know the children in Elder Class. I wish you all a relaxed and enjoyable half term. Remember, the more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.
Reminder
PE days after half term will be on a Tuesday.
