Year 6 – Importance of speaking out!

It has been great to see the children back in school after half term – well rested after our week away on residential. I hope you have had time to share stories from Borwick Hall and hear about how each and every child pushed themselves out of their comfort zones. We were so impressed with all the children and what they achieved as well as how they supported others. We are on with organising the photos from the week and will update you with how you can access them soon.

This week we have found out all about NSPCC and what we can do to speak out and stay safe. Our visitor from NSPCC was impressed with the children’s responses and maturity whilst talking about important issues and understanding the importance of talking to a trusted adult.

We have started our new genre of writing and are exploring a range of poems in preparation for writing our own. In RE we are thinking about God and how we know that he exists – as always it is so humbling to hear the children debate and discuss in such a mature and confident manner – their reflections were fantastic!

Well done to the Tag Rugby team – 1st place and thank you to those of you who joined us for Prayer and Liturgy on Wednesday and to Daina, Lydia and Mila for leading it.

I hope you have a good weekend with your families and I will see you on Monday morning.

Mr Parkinson
